Why is it so hard to find your other gaming half? Well it might be that we might need to jump to some extremes in order to be able to get the ultimate gaming achievement: "LOVE UNLOCKED!"
So here are a few tips (warning: some a bit too extreme) to what *NOT* to do:
1 - Quitting your day job
Quit your day job and start living in your parent's basement. No self-respecting gamer would be caught dead above ground during daylight hours.Example: "I used to have a job at a law firm, but I knew I needed to fully commit to my gaming lifestyle. So, I packed up my things and moved into the basement of my parent's house. Now I can game all day and all night!"
2 - Wearing a gaming headset, like everywhere.
Start wearing a headset at all times, even when you're not gaming. This will give off the vibe that you are constantly ready for a heated round of Call of Duty.
Example: "I always wear my headset, even when I'm just grocery shopping or walking the dog. It's a subtle way to let other gamers know that I'm always down for a match."
3 - Starting to hate sports
Develop an intense hatred for all things sports-related. Gamers and jocks just don't mix.
Example: "I used to be into sports, but then I realized that they're just a bunch of meatheads running around in circles. Real gamers know that the only true competition is in the virtual world."
4 - Taking your switch litterely everywhere
Start carrying around a portable gaming console at all times. You never know when you'll come across a hot gamer in the wild, and you'll want to be prepared.
Example: "I always carry my Switch with me, just in case I run into a cute gamer at a coffee shop or on the bus. You never know when the opportunity for a quick match will arise!"
5 - Speaking geek-y all the time
Start using gamer lingo in everyday conversation. Words like "fragged," "spawn," and "noob" will make you sound like a seasoned pro.
Example: "I was at the bank the other day and the teller asked me how my day was going. I replied, 'It's been a grind, but I've been owning noobs left and right in Fortnite.' She just stared at me blankly, but I know that any fellow gamer would have been impressed by my use of lingo."
6 - Acting weird.
Embrace your inner nerd. The more geeky and awkward you are, the more likely you are to find a gamer who will appreciate you for your quirks.
Example: "I used to be really self-conscious about my love for Star Trek and D&D, but then I realized that there are plenty of other nerdy gamers out there who will love me for who I am. So now I wear my Starfleet uniform to gaming conventions and it's been a total hit!"
7 - Making gaming a tatoo.
Consider getting a gaming-related tattoo. This will show your dedication to the cause and help you stand out in a sea of wannabe gamers.
Example: "I wanted to show my dedication to the gaming community, so I got a tattoo of a Mario mushroom on my bicep. It's a conversation starter and a surefire way to attract other gamers."
We hope these examples help! Remember, finding a gamer boyfriend or girlfriend is all about being yourself and embracing your love for gaming. Good luck!
